Join us in Beirut this November for Bread&Net, a three-day unconference that will delve into critical themes at the intersection of technology and human rights.

Our discussions will cover a range of topics from AI and social justice, to surveillance, media, and cybercrime laws. We encourage WANA technologists, activists, researchers, academics, and journalists to submit proposals for talks or workshops.

Submit your session proposal before July 16, 2023.

Take part in the largest regional unconference on digital rights where we address the region’s most prominent threats to our rights and freedoms. Bread&Net provides a space for sharing knowledge and expertise, building networks, and strengthening our collective fight for a just and safe digital future.

We value your input and want to hear about your experiences navigating networked spaces amid restricted freedom of speech and expression, censorship, and mistreatment by tech companies. We want to know how you and your community are standing up against the challenge of disinformation, internet shutdowns, and other threats that jeopardize our freedoms.

This year’s Bread&Net themes fall under Ethical Tech, Digital Authoritarianism, Policies and Law, and Resistance Communities and Movement Building. Visit our website to learn more about the sub-themes and topics.

We’re eager to receive your session proposals and support your fight for human rights-respecting digital spaces.
